A while ago i had to sell my HTPC (needed the cash) but i managed to keep the Antec Fusion case, Enermax Keyboard, Hard Drive and DVDRW Drive. I also have the parts in my sig available due to my main rig being upgraded last week :)

My thinking is i could sell the parts in my sig and add £100 and this would give me a total of £400 to spend on a Motherboard, CPU, Memory and Video Card. I would need a MATX motherboard to fit in the Antec Fusion and i would also like to overclock.

I want to do HTPC type things although no TV tuners required, but i also want to play all the latest games, So can i have some specs for the best and most compatible components that will allow me to overclock and game on a HTPC for no more than £400

Thanks

You have a slight problem in that most mATX motherboards aren't really all that good for overclocking, they are designed to be in enclosed spaces so it isn't normally a priority. However some overclocking should be possible, preferably with an aftermarket cooler but you will need to check dimensions for the case, same with the graphics card. :)

I was thinking of roughly the same spec myself, maybe the Ballastix ram though. I heard the Asrock isn't a great clocker as i would like to try and get 3GHz out of the E4300, As long as the 8800GTS is not longer than a X1800XT it will fit the case, I've aslo used a Thermalright SI-120 heatsink in the Antec as well (shame i can't use it on the E4300)

I'ts all down to finding a good MATX motherboard it would seem!

Thanks Semi
