Want to make High res textures for games!

Hey guys,
I see in games like San Andreas there are a load of high rez textures. I have been wanting to make them for some games, but I don't know how to go about doing this. Any help would be much appreciated. Also, any big time game modders, since I would like to talk to you.

-1.buy camera
-2.photo texture
0.use photoshop to make the texture
1.make sure the texture is seemless

So could I also use one of the downloadable textures that you get off the net?

Amazing, that's all you need to do? Don't need any form of SDK for game engine and all that? And also hope game engine will support higher resolution textures.

Would depend on the game, but 99% of them you will need to convert the image in to the games format. For example in HL2 that means VTF and a VMT file that describes the materials properties.
