Want your BRAS profile?

IP profile for your line is - 3000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 3424 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 2295 kbps

Looks like the 3000Kbps is the 3424Kbps profile with overheads taken in to account.

The list of BRAS profiles (inc overheads) is:

288K ¼M
576K ½M
1152K 1M
1728K 1½M
2272K 2M
2848K 2½M
3424K 3M
4000K 3½M
4544K 4M
5120K 4½M
5696K 5M
6240K 5½M
6816K 6M
7392K 6½M
7968K 7M
8128K 7.15M

Good find btw :)

IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 3836 kbps

this can't be good,

although its good for plusnet

It was posted in a thread on ADSLguide too, for what it's worth.

Does the ordinary Speedtester show the BRAS profile now (since this one doesn't show anything for me, and I can't be bothered finding a Max line to test it on)?

As for an appearance in the sticky, that'll happen eventually, along with some update of what was written about Max.
Though, other than as a tool for finding your BRAS limit (and any competent ISP can give you that value anyway), it has limited value anyway (given it'll be tied by your ISP the same as any other speedtester) - and I'd have thought it'll replace speedtester.bt.com anyway.

Not last time I tried it (week or two?). You're probably right though - that site looks like it'll replace speedtester.bt.com eventually.

so its confirmed the fact that my BRAS profile is 2000kbps when ive been synched at 8192kb since i got max 2 months ago.

IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1055 kbps

I rarely get great speedtest results from BT though, and speeds on other speedtests are fine and download rates from places with enough BW are very good.

I take it that the IP profile is for maximum throughput and therefore 7150 is the max you can get with a 8128 sync?

I'm still in the 10 day period. Did you guys turn off your routers for 15minutes each day like suggested? I've heard this is wrong you see :/

Whats that about.

Never touched my router killer, restarted it once a day and that was it.
Also kept checking for firmware. I have a voyager 220v :( does the job though.
I guess this speedcheck works best at silly hours in the morning when you live in the UK...

A friend's connection:-

Test1 comprises of two tests

1. Best Effort Test:
IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 500 kbps(UP-STREAM) 1000 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 57 kbps

Be having a word with BT methinks.

Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 5162 kbps

Anyone know why my DSL connection rate seems a little odd comapired to everyone elses test in here ?

The system is currently busy. Please try again shortly, however if this problem persists, raise the issue with your service provider.

Can this test only be used by under the speedtest login? i.e. not connected to your ISP and directly to BT instead.

This is what im getting
