mine is really quiet, the only problem is the side panel fan its like a leaf blower (sunbeam =P) when I jam it for a sec or two all I can hear is my GFX cooler

Sorry Yewen, as much as I respect your opinion, I'm sitting here with a Type-M (non modular) 580watt Hiper psu and its next to silent.

As a noise generator, its probably the quietest component I have!

Totally agree. I contemplated a new case for weeks, 2 months even. I got the G70 Lian Li in the end and am so pleased with it!

Is there much difference between a steel and aluminium case performance wise? or something like that?

not much in performance for type of material used but thickness yes
thicker = quieter (most of the time), stornger, not as much vibrations, better build quality
but aluminium is very good i have a lian li pc-7 and its the best case ive own its strong and weighs next to nothin

Steel cases tend to be a bit quieter as its less prone to resonance than alu.
