I have my MP3 collection organised pretty much perfectly, by artist, album and then track name, with the ID3 tags containing things like track name and number. What I'd really like to do, now, is fill in missing ID3 information from the filenames/locations.
For instance, where a file is
'Mute Math/Live at the Bowl/Mute_Math-01-Collapse',
I'd like to have the file renamed to '01 - Collapse' within the same folder, but also with the ID3 tags updated, with '01' for track number, 'Collapse' for track name, and the artist and album info taken from the folder names....
This might be asking a bit much, but I'm sure there is software out there capable of this kind of renaming! Any ideas? I can use any Windows or OS X software...
