Hi all,

Apologies, if this is not in the correct part of the forums and that it is rather long winded, however, today I have encountered some issues with my 4TB WD My Cloud NAS. Basically, I left my computer running, today well from last night to back up to my NAS, and was still doing that until around 5:30 - 6:30pm GMT this evening ( based on when TeamViewer last saw my computer online).

However, I tried to connect to my pc remotely to see how the back up was doing, and discovered it was not online when I tried to connect to it remotely, and quickly learnt from a neighbour that our power had flickered so it went off and came back on.

The issue is to be precise is that according to my MFD (Multi Functional Device), my NAS was showing up on the network, however when I try and log into the NAS via the wd2go site to try and upload a zipped archive of my college, work ready for when I get home and it comes up as being offline.

As well as this I have also tried logging in using my phone via the app, and all I get is the "Network Connection Failure (668)" error, and I did try googling the issue but, it did not come up with anything.

A lecturer at my college, of which I am studying a HND in Computing and System Development, has suggested that when the power briefly went out it could have, scrambled the circuits resulting it not to boot properly or that there is a soft sap, covering the drive resulting in it not wanting to work properly and appearing as it was dead. So I would need to reboot the device and, if that did not work then, power down the nas for a few hours to see if this resolves the issue of a soft sap if this was an issue.

However, even though I already kind of have my answer as above, but I am wondering if anyone has had a similar issue themselves and how you resolved the issue and if it worked. If so what would you suggest that I try when I get home if, what I was initially suggested by a tutor does not work.

Thank you in advance, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

MFD was rebooted by myself remotely whilst I was at college, and rebooted nas when I got home @ 9:15pm and took a while to stabilize and is all good now and I did mention in the OP that it was showing up on the internal network but not showing up externally. Cheers anyway buddy.
