I've been really enjoying it but i think it does suffer from the fact that to truely love it you had to have been playing the previous ones too. The lack of voices made me re-read the manual looking for a setting i had missed, i cannot believe that in this day and age they didnt put voices on it. Also its a little too sickly at times, they way the children look up to you is slightly vomit inducing.
Just thought of antoher gripe - epona... too easy to get and once got almsot completely useless. I just warp everywhere, also its pretty annoying when you cant warp cos someone is watching you and you have to walk for 30 secs away then do it.
Its a good game - I feel I got my money's worth, but agree that its overhyped. Its just a single-player RPG, a genre that I'm not a big fan of - I don't think there's been a better one than Baldurs Gate 2.
