Hey guys, so really I'm just looking for something I can sink lots of time into. I've never played WoW but I'm considering it, my only concern is that it might be dated and might not have a lot of life left in it. I'm not really interested in Guild Wars 2 or TES Online. Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Theres secret world, TERA, RIFT, Swordsman, Neverwinter, DC Hero's, Star Wars plenty of choices there.

Secret World and DC were the two games i played the most Star Wars was good but some missions i ended up waiting hours to play as too many Hans Solo players!

Depends what you fancy.... If you've got money to burn and like space games, then EVE is the largest by far and is far more realistic in terms of player behavior than any other MMO I've ever played, piracy, theft, grudges, war.... you name it, it happens!

Problem is, most MMO's are based on the WoW model of doing things and as such pretty much run the same way...

Fortunately most are now free to play, so try as many as you want, find one that fits and then go with it!

Rift, wildstar, WoW or Eve.

Currently playing wildstar, it's ok but feels unfinished and lacking polish (only been out 1 month). Another 6 or so months (assuming it's still populated) and it will be great.

Rift was good and has a decent F2P structure. Too easy overall though. Still it's a decent game.

WoW is well WoW. Not much more to say.

Eve looks amazingly great, but from my understanding it can take a huge amount if hours to a decent level. Although I ain't sure. Only one I've not played.

never played EVE but its all spacey, i like some combat hand to hand. Ive just got Neverwinter and i am not happy with that either. I dont want to try WoW just incase i like it. I dont want to be that guy..........
I didnt like Wildstar or should I say star wars looks and plays exactly the same

Is this a joke? It has 7million players. Thats more than probably every other MMO combined. Its got plenty of life left in it. But Rift is F2P on steam, archeage looks really cool with closed beta starting soon, wildstar too but got a bit bored of the leveling.

I played EVE for about a year before my whole life turned upside down and I could no longer afford luxuries... I'd still be playing now if it wasn't for that.

The interesting thing is that training is done in real time, you select a box and wait for the timer to run down... this can take weeks, even months for the higher level skills... but that's not to say you have to wait years to have a good game.

Even new players can get in on the action, me personally I found combat wasn't my thing in EVE so got into a corp and got mining. Wasn't long before I was in a hulk, and buying my first ORCA still it got pretty hairy in lowsec space when people would drop out looking to kill hulks...

Okay so there is no hand to hand combat, but they did release a FPS game that's linked to the main game... Dust 345 or something?

I had no idea you played EvE mate, spent most of my game time looking for british players!

However it is brutal to a new player, expect to spend a lot of time on google working out what to do!

Have a look at trailers etc and if you like what you see you could well enjoy it.

PS. Vidar give us a shout on WT sometime :)

We're going back 2 years now Boycey...

I really should jump on War Thunder again soon... I've been neglecting it since I picked up Planetary Annihilation in the steam sales.

I've got PA aswell, have to team up with you for some games, add me on steam!

Yeah it was 4-2 years ago for me too, too much commitment for me that

Another one for Wildstar, Ive made it to Max level and already looking forward to making an alt for down time on my main! Best MMO that has kept me interested right till the end content!

If you liked WoW then try Wildstar, feels familiar but different enough to keep you interested. Totally hooked on WS at the moment, not been like this with an MMo since the original release of WoW.

Take a look in the WS thread you might be able to get yourself a guest pass to try it out.

Wildstar, Wildstar, Wildstar... oh, did I mention Wildstar?

Not been into an MMO like this since WoW launch, love it. Maybe a little too much... neglecting life haha.
