Ive been playing with 1080p for a long time and am wanting to upgrade.

My current system is
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
x570 Tomahawk Wifi
32gb 3600 ddr4
850 Watt psu
RTX 3060
1080p monitor.

Im looking at swaping out the GPU and Monitor for the following. Will they be a good match for the system that i have? And is the price/power good, is there something much better i could get for a few tenners more?

Gaming wise, i play a mix of stratagy and first person games. How it would run with Dying Light 2 or Dead Island 2 would be good indicators.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £738.94 (includes delivery: £0.00)

Thanks for looking
Much apreciated.

I would buy the monitor first and see what sort of performance you are getting at that res. If you are not happy you can always upgrade the gpu later.

3060 to 6800 is an ok upgrade but still the same generations. I would wait and see what the 7800/7700 is like , when AMD finally get around to releasing them. Poor gpu sales are pushing prices down so no real harm in waiting on that purchase.

Doh, thought i had put it, i have a 850wat

You could get away with that for the 6950xt that's what I would get if you don't mind upping your budget .

So a 6900xt would double your FPS moving from a 3060 but the 6800 gives you above the 60 FPS you would ideally want in FPS dips and you can always lower the detail if required.

As above you could start with the monitor first but at least you got some info

Choices choices .
