War Dust (64 player VR Battlefield)

ok, I love my VRFPS’s but there’s been a big a big hole in the games I’ve played, other than BAM which is sadly dead, there’s not been a large scale war game with vehicles (a comparison to Battlefield is in unavoidable) enter ‘War Dust’, I bought it knowing the history of the developers ‘Raptor Lab’ they release VR games in early access and don’t finish them, this is there FORTH VR game.. but its on sale for 40% off and it’s only £11, so I took the plunge, and I’m glad I did!!! It’s like Battlefield 2 in VR! It really is, I can’t quite believe how good it is, graphically it’s not great, but it’s good enough, but the gameplay is bang on! It appears to be an asset flip from there previous game ‘Stand Out’ and they have copied Battlefield as much as possible from map design to spawn, even the HUD resembles a BF game.
But I don’t care, this is excellent!

Just a heads up, there is another VR Battlefield like game coming soon too ‘WarzoneVR’ so it’s going be intresting too see which comes out on top, and more importantly, where the player count goes..

Ladders do seem a little broken, on the 1st day of the early access I killed myself a few times. It’s a little better now but it’s still awkward. It’s certainly not as polished as Onward, Pavlov and Zero Caliber demo is rather impressive, but right now I’m enjoying War Dust more than any other shooter. Each to there own, there’s some fantastic looking shooters on the horizon too such as Warzone and Contractors

Ok, I'm sold Been having some really good games on this over the last couple of nights.
It has a few quirks and the graphics are nothing special, but it's fun once you get into it and start getting kills.

Upgraded my printed stock to one of these today.
Still gotta settle into it and get used to doing things differently, but it's very nice.

Expect some gameplay videos when I get it dialled in

It's very fun, especially when you squad up with mates or at least end up in a cooperative squad of randoms that communicate.

How is the stock? I’ve never used one but I like the idea, I’m just curious in how the reloading, grenade throwing and switching to a pistol works.
I love using the pistols in Pavlov, they just feel cool to use and I imagine it being awkward to switch compared to free hand without the stock.
Is sniping in War Dust easier? I’m terrible, i can’t control the shaking of the rifle.
My 1070ti is back and I’ll be playing more War Dust next week, if I’m not doing any overtime at work that is.

Another fun couple of days. I seriously can't enough of this game right now.
Sadly couldn't use some great footage due to buggering about with audio settings and then not getting any sound Still, here's three murder sprees with a happy ending

Managed to squeeze a couple of hours in before work earlier, went 42-3 all but 4 kills were in a tank, the other 4 was with a pistol!
My aswel hang up my Oculus controllers, I’m not beating that

I need a suppressor, have you bothered with the AK or are you sticking with the M4? Nice gameplay btw, I can see why you recommend a stock

Played an hour of this earlier and its pretty incredible!!
Atmosphere and immersion is brilliant and game is fun to play. Like holding gun with 2 hands improves aim etc

How do you unlock other weapons etc?? Just using each class and it unlocks over time?

Nice going! I'm terrible in the vehicles
I've toyed with the AK, but not settled with it. Waiting to unlock a supressor for it, as it's loud AF! Seems pretty powerful though.

Currently lvl24 or 25 in assault and want to what the M16 is like at lvl30.
Also need to level up support for the eventual P90, although I don't like the low damage at distance you get with the SMG's.

And yeah, the stock is pure gold in this I got the kit version for £110 *OUCH!*, but I don't regret it one bit.

the unlocks take ages, it’s a good job the game is great fun, because it’s a bit of a grind to u lock stuff

i think I’m only lvl 11 with the assault, it’s my main class but I like mixing it up, i think you’ve sold me on a stock, but I’m not paying £100, I’ll mess around at weekend and try and make one

Had a look on eBay and guy selling lots of these

Look crude as hell but surely can be made quite cheap
Not sure how well it would work compared to nice stock Petey has tho

That’s what I had in mind, some PVC piping and possibly a away of adding magnets instead of those cups

LOL Thanks, I don't think I did that well at all, it's just everyone else was rubbish on our team. You finished in the top 2 every map on our team, I finished in the top 6. You deserved the top spot most maps, but, not sure how I ended up that high up!! Once I finished 5th with 0 kills

Do i need room size ?,if that make's sense,i have very little space around me,though i only play racing game's at the moment.
Really like the look of this,and would love to give it a go,thank's.

Not really, no VR games need much room imo, as long as you can stretch your arms out and maybe have enough room to step once or twice in any direction I think you’ll be fine
