I actually think they will complement each other excellently in this film. Really looking forward to it. As for his accent, no big deal, it's hardly going to be Shakespeare. I just think the contrast in styles, appearance, acting (!?) and fighting will be ace.

Has anyone seen this yet? My mates saw it last night and said it wasn't that good, i'd still like to go see it though (have an unlimited card might as well use it)
 
Its not the martial arts fest you imagine, there are a few bits but its a got a fairly twisty plot and the showdown between Li and Statham is a let down.

Still not a bad film but with the 2 main actors I was expecting some awesome martial arts action.

Was really gutted at the sheer lack of kung-fu in this film, was expecting a lot more of it and there was hardly any of it just lots of guns and little bit of swordplay... kinda disappointing in that respect but still a decent movie although could have been better. Jason Statham was really good in it, quite like him as an actor from Transporter (1 that is, 2 was terrible) / Snatch / Mean Machine. Jet Li was also good but he suits kung-fu movies where he tends to snap people in half :-) The twist at the end was great, and I really didn't see it coming which is normally odd as they tend to make it kinda obvious but in this case it wasn't.
 
Jason Statham i agree is even worse than michael caine when it comes to an american accent as for the film it was average 5/10.

Jet Li won't be doing any martial arts in movies anymore.

Y'joking? I thought it was one of the best films I've seen this year. The 'twist' was one of the best I've ever seen. O well, each to their own I guess.

Statham is indeed British, dunno about him being an awesome actor but then he is hardly working with scripts that allow for subtle nuances. He has seemed solid enough in everything I've seen him in though and seems to have a sense of humour for quotes like "You ain't ever gonna get an Academy Award for doing Crank and you certainly won't for doing all the other movies I've done.". :)

I might have to see if I can catch this at the cinema then, pity about the lack of martial arts though.
 
Jet li should stick to what he does best, hate it when people that cannot act get inflated ego's and start trying to act.Jackie chan did a similar thing for a while.
