Warhammer online - Support it

Thats the problem I find with the more modern MMOs. I remember the days of UO, where I was able to kill someone, loot their body, and then if I so wished I could cut their body up into pieces, use a skinning knife on their body parts and cut away human flesh, which I was then able to cook on a campfire and it came out as "human jerky". Or AC where you could dodge arrows rather than arrows mysteriously turning in mid-air to auto-home in on the target.

No point to doing the cannibilism thing of course, but the option was there if I so wanted. It was just one of many elements of freedom that allowed you to do so much more than kill/loot. Not an MMO style to everyones liking, but I like my MMOs to be more virtual world and less whack-a-mole, thats just the style I like.

Amen. People want options, even if they are not used they should still be available. At the same time though, countless stupid features only bog down the game.

So im at a loss to why people dont like it. Then again, i think the old saying of, if you like PvE play WOW, if you like PvP then play WAR and i think many people thought they liked PvP and have now found they dont like it as much as PvE as they thought.

Well I think WoWs PvP better then WAR. I love WoW's battlegrounds but never really gelled with WAR's. They seemed not as polished and focused. Partly due to that fact you could win simply by killing and not doing the objectives.

As people have said WAR reminded me too much how WoW used to be: RvR was like old school AV; getting dismounted all the time because I rode through an arch; flight masters too far and few between meaning you had to run everywhere, etc etc. Blizzard saw these problems and fixed them but Mythic didn't.

Beyond that PQ weren't as much fun as I hoped. They were turning into a massive grind fest in tier 3. That’s if you could find an active one. General PvE was just as grindy.

The dungeon I saw was like Everquest's; in a cave (yawn) and no real difference to overland zone. Insane respawn times and lack of summoning meant if you got left behind it was impossible to catch up. I lost my loot bag due to the fast respawns. Seconds after we killed the last mobs they popped right back and right on top of the loot chest. Mechanics like that should never have made it into the game.

In a way I’m more disappointed with WAR then AoC. I never expected AoC to be the next big thing but I did with WAR.
