Hey all,

Check your email if anyone used to have an account in warhammer online, everyone who had a previous account now has 10days free gametime, and exclusive xp bonuses. It doesn't require you to enter any credit card details either if you want to reactiveate your account.

Just 'resubbed' and I'm currently on Karak Azgal - Order, 32 Swordmaster, Elvfsting. Just wondering if anyone from OCUK still plays? Maybe even on my server? There's a lot of action in the RVR areas on the server, as Mythic were offering free transfers to diffirent servers so a lot of people came here. In tier 1 earlier on my warrior priest there was 2 warbands fighting, and yesterday in eataine there was 2 warbands of destro wandering around and us deperatelyn defending keeps, it's all good fun.

Anyone still play or actually thinking of coming back? The game in general has improved a lot since I last played (november) and is a lot less buggy. The new land of the dead expansion looks great but I havn't experienced it yet cause i'll get ripped apart at my level.

One thing. I got this mail as well, decided to give it a go again but there are issues with the patcher when you do a clean install. In the end, to get the game working, I had to download the client from GOA. If I tried to install via the DVD then patch, I'd get errors during the patching process. Apparently this is happening a lot to people.

Not happened to me, I just installed it via disc and downloaded the patches in the patcher, did it all in a couple of hours on my slow connection. So just left the PC downloading overnight.

But really not sure about that problem, maybe check the warhammeralliance forums? Well you could but there down atm, but when there up i'm sure someone will help there. :p
 
I got an email asking me to come back and willing to give me 10 days free, Might do this later in the week.

Couple of questions ?

Does it still look **** ?
Does it still play like **** ?
Do people actually play it ?
 
I deleted the email then emptied my trash after about 2 seconds spent reading it. I couldn't be less interested.

Now if they offered a free transfer to the US servers I'd possibly consider it.

Nope looks great on full graphics, better than wow almost.
Depends what you mean, there's a few bugs but it's still good. Not laggy in rvr anymore.
Yes a lot of people play it on the high pop servers, as they implemented free transfers and other people just came across. More people playing on the server now than when the game first came out. There's actually people in zones questing and always rvr, and actually people in altdorf!
 
I tried it since leaving a month after release and ... meh, it's still the biggest let down in mmo history for me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the makers of DAoC combined with the fantastic warhammer universe should have had the best mmo on the market but they ****** it up big time, it's so criminal that the ceo (whatshisface?!) should be put in jail!

Im not a big WoW fan at all, play it solely due to the lack of alternatives, but one thing WoW has on all competitors especially WAR is it is so seamless. Never seems to any real loading times, its nice and smooth and generally a hassle free gaming experience.

WAR just feels clunky and old despite being a much newer game. A lot of potential there but not enough to get my cash in their pockets.

I am quite enjoying it atm. Once the 10 days are up I shall not resub but I am havign a lot of fun as a Bright Wizard, level 8 atm, doing some RvR capturing places in Nordland.

Ditto. I remember T1 being a bit of laugh, but every tier after that became increasingly tedious. And GOA are beneath contempt!
 
Played a few days of my 10 day reactivation. Arch mage was fun until I hit a brick wall at lvl 12 because there is absolutely no one around in the t2 area and I'd rather slit my wrists than play solo. Dug out my lvl 19 swordmaster and got a PQ group with some other returnees. After about 20 mins of massacre one guy said "Guys I'm logging this is boring" and I realised he was right it was proper mind numbing. Might go back for some more scenarios but there doesn't seem to be much to look forward to.

To be fair the PvE in DAoC was extremely dull but the PvP made up for it. Don't get the same buzz from WAR unfortunately. And I'm not joking when I say the only time people talk is to complain about the crappy healers.
