Warm boots for working outside?

just getting rid of the steel toecap helps a lot
we use ceramic toecaps at work now, cant use steel on the ramp these days
but have noticed the last few winters toes are warmer in these new boots

While we're discussing boots, I would like a recommendation for a pair of boots that would be used almost exclusively in snow or icy conditions that might arise about 10 days of the year, and would enable me to pop them on, walk about 3 miles to work and 3 miles home again with good grip for snow and ice.
Not wishing to spend a pile as they won't be worn that often, people have said Magnums, Lowa and Asolo, any specific recommendations and price points?

Might be worth looking at ice cleats for your current footwear unless your expecting to do it often - proper footwear for walking on ice that performs as well often isn't cheap.
