It doesn't look great, doesn't seem to have much surface area.
No VRAM cooling either.

most of the manufacturers are switching to this new cooler. Probably due to the number of returned artifacting cards.

I dont see how its heat problems with these returned cards, 80 degrees is by no means going to cause this card to artifact.
The OP does not seem too happy with what he found, but if I ordered that card thinking it was going to be a stock cooler but was that I think I would be pretty happy.
You would think there must be a problem if they are going to the trouble to change it. Mine went into the 90's when I had it.
I think the problem with the original cooler is more of an insulator than a cooler. The heatsinks get so hot from the core because the fan is useless so it heats the ram etc rather than cooling it.
There also appears to be a bigger GTS style cooler used on the newer XFX GT.
My Asus 8800GT has the Company of Heroe's log on it!
OcUK sell it as their pick of the week. It comes with the new cooler and Company of Heroes, total bargain I reckon.
I think the memory does not have coolers because it isn't a OC version, however the large fan shifts quite a bit of air and probably cools them too.
Is this still a single slot cooler then ?
I'm after this card but how the hell did you get it? Everywhere doesn't have stock for it!
