Complaints on the rise

NVIDIA HAS ADMITTED that it has received some 51 civil complaints against it from miffed customers.

Amongst other things, complainants claim that the firm has conspired with rival AMD to fix prices and screw consumers.

Nvidia confessed to the allegations against it and its arch rival in its quarterly report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The complainants are largely customers who have bought graphics cards and feel they have been ripped off in the process.

It said most of complaints emanated from California.

The complaints may develop into class action law suits against which Nvidia says it will "vigorously" defend itself, according to Dow Jones.

Nvidia faced 42 similar complaints in the year to March 14 according to the annual report it filed with the SEC on March 16.

We have asked both Nvidia and AMD for a comment and will let you know what they say. Although we can probably guess already.
You know, I wouldn't be too surprised if these accusations were true. :o

No reason not to, to be honest, you're always about £400 for the fastest GPU regardless of whether it's ATI or Nvidia. Stinks of price fixing.

Who here thinks their trainers cost 10% of their price or more to make??

I'm perfectly use to being ripped off. Not much we can do tbh. We need better competitiveness in the industry. Two companies just aren't enough to provide such competition.

Of course there is price fixing, everyone knows that. Question is would Nvidia and ATI actually agree to fix things. I'd just say its a silent agreement... after all they only supply the chips, they dont actually make the graphics cards or strictly enforce pricing after launch.

Graphics cards in recent years have reached absoloutely retarded prices, the pinnacle of which is the 8800 ultra. I wouldn't mind seeing the top end go for a max of 300 and mid range for 225 or so, sure im not the only one either. :p

Muppets :)

Tough luck if you are stuck in the consumption race. NV and ATI can't be blamed for people willing to pay the premium.

People are stupid, which is why we have laws regulating and protecting them (the consumer) from BAD corporations taking their money. But wait, I chose to spend my earned income on next gen HW...

retards.

I'm not sure I agree with your logic on that one. You're saying it's the consumer's fault if they pay for a price fixed product? Sounds a bit like blaming the victim to me.
