Hi this has been mentioned in another thread but as it affects GPU's people might not see that thread so i made this one.
Basicly i noticed my fan on my Gigabyte 7970 was going crazy on my desktop so i thought it might be the newest driver 13.3!
But looked at Afterburner and my temps were going over 60c and GPU usage was at 99% on desktop:eek:
After a bit of searching i looked at my start up programs and noticed one i have never seen before or knew what it was, iehighutil.exe!
Googled and instantly found many people had come across this in the last week, its a script thats something to do with hacking bitcoins!
Anyway i disabled it and deleted C:Temporary where its located but still found that didn't fix it.
So used a program someone else suggested http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/combofix/
Its now fine:)
So please check your start up processes to see if iehighutil.exe is there;)
This is a link to the other thread just in case more help and suggestions are made in that thread http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=23972375#post23972375

Sounds like you've been looking at naughty sites again.

No erratic behaviour from my 6850 but i'll have a check when I get home just to make sure, better safe then sorry.

Cheers for the heads up.

Not 100% on this but it has been linked with Java updates, so just be careful when installing any Java related updates.

Not installing Java updates is the big issue. It's safe to install all Java updates as long as they're obtained from java.com or via the Update utility (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Java (32bit)\Java Control Panel\Update).

Says i have the latest version:)

I read that its also linked with cracked versions of Crysis 3 and Tombraider.

Starting to wonder about some of the complaints of poor performance and constant crashing in TR as its (the pirate version) been linked as a source of this malware and would likely cause those symptoms.

I dont have anything in startup but I just checked Task Manager and i have something called 'ielowutil' loaded.. is that the same thing?

YES! Well, kind of. It is a very bad piece of software to have on your machine! REMOVE IMMEDIATELY!!

According to a google search, its related to internet explorer, and its not malicious in any way. But you do need to stop using IE, as it is terrible, and use chrome.
