Warnock sacked

I like Warnock, not having much luck in the premier league, has he ever been in for more than a season?

QPR with the money behind them will no doubt want a "higher profile" manager

I do. It's shocking I know.

Bumped in to him at Sheffield Train station a while back, gave him some abuse as I was waiting for my train, got plenty back. Then proceeded to buy me a coffee and we waited for our trains together. Top bloke. Completely different away from football.
Yup, I'm going to join Tummy in this minority view, having worked at the Blades training academy while he was managing them. He always had time for the riff-raff. Never got a coffee out of him, though :D

Saddened by this announcement, but not surprised [especially as I also called it when the season kicked off]. Mind you, I'm not a QPR fan; I suspect they've got a different viewpoint!

Not sure where all this 'whinging git' comes from [the whole Blades/West Ham/Tevez affair, perhaps?]; every Premiership post-match interview I've seen him conduct, he's displayed quite a sardonic sense of humour. Certainly more interesting to listen to than most of the others. People moan that there's not enough characters in the game... and then can't wait to say good riddance to the Warnocks and Holloways. Bizarre.

Probably, going to look like more of an idiot, now!

Don't QPR have bagloads of money now, the owners just want a manager who they think actually knows what they are doing and don't really trust Warnock, nor really want to play his style of premiership football, and probably don't like the guy personally.

EDIT:- I should say bagloads of money.... again, but an owner who seems much more likely to spend it?

If you had loads to spend, would you want to let Warnock spend it, or get in someone you know can do very well in the league, and let him spend your money?

Seriously, you won the lottery which was 200million and ownership of QPR, is Warnock the guy you give the 200mil to take them forwards, not a chance in hell.

Firing him basically at the end of the transfer window wasn't a great idea, it is "his" team, his style and that might scrape through a season then you can fix it next year. With the results turning and QPR getting worse and worse, I can see being worried enough to risk the change now and hope to stay up then build properly next season still.

Was vaguely surprised but there had been rumours about him going in summer and it makes sense if they can get in a replacement quickly giving him time to spend in January.

Surprised that Warnock has been given the boot really, didnt see that coming...if anyone was to be sacked first, i would have put my money on Kean at Blackburn being booted...how that fella has kept onto his job is truly beyond me...i mean fair enough hes managed to beat Arsenal and Utd but still its shocking that hes still there when 99.9% of the fans at blackburn want the guy out:p

I'm disappointed he's been sacked. Seems daft that he was never really given a chance to spend the new found riches the club has, but was expected to perform like he had.

Also want to agree with Tummy and simisker, he is a brilliant bloke away from football. I remember going to see my little sister in hospital on Christmas day a few years ago, and he was there with all the kids talking, gave them all presents, and was just generally a very nice person.

I don't like QPR, but I do really like Warnock. Honest, straight-talking, cynical and seems to have a decent sense of humour. It's a shame he wasn't given the full year as I reckon they're a couple of players away from being a decent lower-mid-table team. At his age I can't imagine him wanting another job :(

Just glad we've got our 6 points from them this season (Norwich) The next manager could have the Martin O'Neil effect!

Holloway is a special case, he is an actual idiot with no real managerial ability...

Warnock getting sacked on the other hand is stupid beyond belief! He's manhandled a few almost unmanageable players into a pretty good squad, let down by one or two area's that would have been simple enough to strengthen over christmas. Fernandes has ruined football for me :( (despite being a good F1 laugh)

Hope QPR go down now for this stupidity and pick someone silly...
