Warranty issue with Kindle

If you want build quality, spend more money.
Consumer products aren't designed for heavy use over several years, never have I had a laptop last more than 12 months without needing repair, or seen a washing machine make the 3 year mark without needing several repairs.

The phrase "they don't build them like they used to" rings true, consumer attitudes have changed, people don't want to spend thousands on a product to last them for life. Deal with it or go out and find an alternative product.

On the other hand I've had a couple of cheap washing machines that have lasted 3yrs with heavy student house use and haven't skipped a beat, also I've never needed to repair any of my laptops because they've failed it's normally because I end up dropping them.
Same with mobile phones I've never had one break before it's time for me to get rid of it anyway and that's been after 3 or 4 years in some cases, so it's definitely possible to make something that lasts more than 12months if they want to.

Seems each company is different. I've had warranty replacements of warranty replacements from both Razer and Corsair before without even the slightest issue, both of which were near enough a year past the original purchase warranty

We're talking about a product that can't last even 8 months. That's twice in a row.

I'm not hugely bothered over it, I was just supriaed tbh.

How much is this thing worth?

Is it worth a try with the SoGA on the basis on value/lifespan?
