Why does everything have to be covered in big obnoxious stickers saying in bold letters WARRANTY VOID IF REMOVED? Just got a delivery of my GFX card and ram, both of them have it! really annoying, it completely spoils the look of them...
:(

Do you guys keep the stickers on, or say to hell with it? And will RMA's etc turn a blind eye if I did take the stickers off?

On almost every graphics card ive owned, theese stickers have eventually fallen of off their own accord, guess they cant stand the heat.:D

Carefully remove them, then put them in the packaging just in case - especially good if you've got some blank sticker-back paper (the smooth shiny stuff). It's never that difficult.

I pulled a similar trick when Game used to do that thing where they'd put a seal on the box, and if you returned the game with the seal intact then you could get a refund. Some careful peeling, then some sampling of the NFS game I'd bought = one refund :D.

Great consumer advice Marvin.:D

Disclaimer. I in no way intend to try this, or reccomend that others do so:)

You don't see the stickers when it's installed in your case anyway. Never really been an issue.

I would personally leave them on. Usually void if removed stickers cover screwholes so the returns guys no if it's broke due to you fiddling with it... just leave them on and forget about it.

The Gainward Phantom?

yeah there are about 3 different stickers on the PCB.I had also ordered 4GB OCZ Special Ops. The RAM is the worst, the stickers are almost the full height of the heatsink!

As its a first build I won't take any of them off, just in case I mess everything up...

dont just pull the stickers off, most of the time they had two sides that when you peel the sticker off it, it leaves bits of the sticker on the componant so you cant just take it off and on,

INSTEAD...

use a hair dryer of heat gun or something hot and blow it on the sticker for a while then with tweezers or something likke VERY small plyers or a knife blade to peel the sticker off slowly whilst holding the hair dryer over the sticker :P done this before *i know i shouldnt have* :D but it does the job and works for any stickers, even xbox ones ;)

also, dont put the hair dryer too close or let it get too hot as it'll wrinkle up and melt, only heat it enough to melt the glue on the sticky side,,

I don't like it when I see it on a PSU.

What if you need to open it up and clean the dust out?

Of the many things that people shouldn't do with their pc, opening the psu it right at the top. Still doesn't stop twits hurting themselves though
