I was under the impression the E6750/E6850 have higher overclock potential (due to the lower thermal output)
That would mean the dual cores have the one or two threaded apps advantage, but the quads have the > 2 threaded apps, plus some future proof.
I decided on the E6750 now, with a view to *maybe* getting a Quad Penryn next year, and selling the E6750.
