Was this video eally shot with a Nikon D7000?

You're shooting at 1080p, the glass makes very little difference outside of focal length and aperture. Pretty much every piece of glass ever will outresolve that so I don't see why everyone's complaining about the lenses he use?

I wasn't, I even suggested cheaper alternatives :p

Nothing. I put myself under a misapprehension that a steadycam might be some £20,000 professional video camera, but it's obviously not.:p

No, it's just a mount. A vastly overpriced mount, but then it's a high end niche product so you don't have much choice.

THAT was all shot on a phone??

I'll check out the iphone one bigredshark mentioned, but I'm sure it'll be amazing too. So this seems to suggest the 1080 video camera on my SGS2 phone could make a movie as good as that nokia one.

With some lighting gear, editing software and a few mounts/dollies etc. there's no reason why not.

You also need to know how to edit. That is a whole other skill set right there. If you watch that video, or movies for that matter, there is a cut every few seconds. You rarely get a continuation shot. Knowing when to cut, where to cut is not immediately apparent.

Then you got to storyboard your film, in a way, it is like composition of a photo but you are composing the whole film from start to finish.

Indeed, I seriously do not get how people can question that... the fact you can see the whole way through that video the various equipment and the vast amount of lenses he is using. As has been said you could probably use the cheapest camera body that shoots video but if you have the know how and other solid equipment then your laughing and can quite happily produce videos similar to that!

Just for the record, I know nothing about photography as I'm sure you can tell, nor am I about to rush out and buy this camera. I just find it all quite interesting, as an outside observer. Cool to learn about the processes behind these amazing things :)

Of course its all shot on D7000.
As all is said. The absolute best glass in the business, sound kit and stabilisers, dollys and even choppers lol.
Not to mention the huge crew involved in it. Also don't take anything away from Chase Jarvis. Fantastic artist and the umph will of come from something like Final Cut Pro.

A bundle of elements non so different than creating truly great stills.
