Was Vettel a worthy winner in 2012 ?

Well you can't ignore Kimi. He drove superbly in that Lotus.

I agree about closing the thread.
grosjean flattered him points wise and during the races grosjean was often the faster driver..

I think next year will be do or die for kimi is grosjean stops crashing and finds his feet

He drove well to finish each race, but he didn't come 3rd in the WDC because he was the 3rd best driver, he came 3rd because he finished a lot more races than those around him.

When ranking the drivers based on average points per race he's way down the list, behind Webber, Jenson and Lewis, and just ahead of Grosjean.

Alonso gets too many points donated to him by Massa to be considered 'deserving' of winning the Drivers Championship, but if both drivers were in equal cars my money would always be on Alonso over Vettel.

That said Webber always has a lot of reliability problems and an obviously slower car since he since he challenged Vettel a few seasons ago so I have no doubt Red Bull are aiding their poster boy Vettel too.

Closing the thread? Why do we need to close the thread? If you feel this was already discussed in another thread (which it was, in detail) then don't post and let the thread die naturally.

Short answer for me, I felt Alonso deserved it more.

Only time I can remember last year was Austin was it where they broke the gearbox seal deliberately to get Alonso on the good side of the grid, probably did help him gain a position or two at the start (or not lose a position or two at the start), but that was about it?

As for overall, I felt Vettel was helped hugely by:
Ferrari being consistently useless
McLaren screwing up pitstops, and once they'd fixed that they just broke down all the time

But, it was also arguably Vettel's most worthy title, but not sure that's saying a huge amount :p
