Those pictures are really good thanks for uploading those.
Some bloke got rid of ours by blowing cyanide powder into the nest through a straw!!
although i wouldn't recommend this method it worked (not sure if you could buy cyanide from the garden centre though)

Had one above the downstairs bathroom in the roof space and could hear them scratching/biting the ceiling wood for pulp. Council came out and powdered it for about £30.

About 3 or 4 weeks later, another nest appeared, this time in the passageway to the house, directly under my bedroom floorboards. Council guy actually looked scared at the number of wasps, powdered it and ran into the house.

Had to tell the neighbours a couple of doors either side and behind to stay indoors, next thing there were hundreds of wasps all going mental, banging into the windows trying to get in.

Chatting to the guy about nests he'd treated and told me of a hornet's nest he treated over at Notts Uni - as they climbed up onto the roof to the nest, one of his collegues suddenly yelped, rolled down the roof and fell off. Apparently he couldn't remember getting stung, as the sting knocked him clean out - hit him right on his forehead. :)

Haha there's about 30 dead wasps in my hoover now muwahahaha
