I asked this question in the Ubisoft forums yesterday

I bought a RTX 3080 yesterday and for obvious reasons all I could get was a pre order, OCUK can't give me a date when the card will be delivered. WD Legion is free with the card but is there a cut off date as to when it can be claimed. If my card arrives after that date, do I lose the abilty to claim the game for free?

Welcome to Ubisoft Support.

Thank you for reaching out to us and congratulations on your purchase of a new RTX 3000 series graphics card.

In order to redeem Watch Dogs Legion that came together with your bundle, you have to make sure the graphics card is installed in your PC and that you have Nvidia Geforce Experience installed and updated.

After this follow the steps outlined in our article around the redemption process:

https://support.ubisoft.com/Faqs/000057996

Once the content has been successfully activated, you will be able to access the game together with the additional content you receive once the game launches on October 29th.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us back.

Kind Regards,

So from this reply it would seem that I still have the limit of 30th November

That is a generic auto response by the looks of it.

I would reply to them and explain that they didn't actually answer your question.

Yes, from the FAQ that seems to be the max date to redeem the code. I suspect that due to the supply issues this may be extended. I'd expect the info to be well publicised if it is extended.

My bad for not reading the link and does seem you are indeed correct. I hope they do extend it, as I can see orders being delayed past that date.

This is the only thing I'm that bothered about with regards to waiting for a 3080. Would be a shame to miss out as the game looks decent and I would likely be buying it otherwise.

Otherwise though I can get by with a 1070ti for the time being. My wife has her eyes on it though!

Not very helpful are they... Just have to keep fingers crossed, there were apparently only a thousand keys to go with the cards here too so I think they may be asking Nvidia for more codes, but I assume they will still be to redeem before November.

I don't see why it's any skin off Ubisoft's nose to honour the keys slightly beyond the cut off in this case. It's not as if you get given one for nothing is it.

I'd imagine it is a much higher paygrade than the CS people we ever get to talk to who know what the rules are, that certainly seemed to be a "I have no idea, but can't say that" answer.

The contract between Nvidia and Ubisoft might have the cutoff date in it, so anything redeemed after the cutoff might not get them paid, or since it is through Geforce Experience it might just be Nvidia's call rather than Ubisofts. I doubt any answers will be heard before some highly paid execs have expensed several lunches discussing it.

I wonder what game is planned to follow watchdogs as the free one (end of October seems too close to the 3070 release for there not to be one). Assasins Creed Valhalla, since they often seem to be Ubisoft games, or maybe Cyberpunk (it certainly looks to be a good one to show off RTX, though since it doesn't need the extra press I'm not sure what would be in it for CDPR)

You need the code to redeem it and you will not get the code untill you get the card, OCUK will not give out the code beforehand in case you cancel the order. (That's it for me now my 15 posts in 24 hours have come into force)

BTW OCUK only had 1000 codes, they have had to apply to Nvidia or Ubisoft for more

So what if they ship 1000 cards before mine, even though I may have been one of the first to order? I don't get the game. Sounds complicated.

If it's a "free" game, i guess it has no value and wouldn't need to compensate us.

Free game or not its the deal you sighed up for and the game has a value what £50 or so.
OC have an obligation to for fill or compensate to the value of the game even if its a 3ed party offer as they are who your buying it from not the 3ed party.
If it was a voucher redeemable to Nvidia or who ever then it would be Nvidia's problem.
I'm sure they will have loop holes, but on the face of it .......

According to the Terms and Conditions:

"1.3 No contract exists between you and the Supplier for the sale of any goods until the Supplier has received and accepted your order and the Supplier has received payment in full (in cleared funds). Acceptance of your order will be communicated to you by way of email at the point of dispatch of the products. Acceptance will be deemed complete and will be deemed for all purposes to have been effectively communicated to you at the time the Supplier sends the e-mail to you (whether or not you receive that e-mail)."

I'm afraid that the situation you find yourself in is that you do not have a contract with OCUK until your graphics card is dispatched to you. OCUK is free to inform you at any point between now and dispatch that they will not be able to include the promotional offer. Obviously, that is not the agreement you signed up to, so I would expect them to give you an opportunity to end the contract in that situation.

I believe OCUK have asked Nvidia for additional codes. It's a reasonable request. After all, they are partly responsible for this situation. They introduced the promotional offer and they created the conditions for this botched launch by starting worldwide sales at a pre-announced time when supplies are still low and allowing their own supplies to be purchased largely by bots at volume. But Nvidia are unlikely to be under any obligation to provide these codes. Nvidia's Terms and Conditions include:

"Game code offer good beginning 17/09/20 until 29/10/20 or while supplies last."

They could argue that supplies have run out. It will be interesting to see whether Nvidia helps out a long term partner and seeks to ensure the experience of their early adopters isn't worsened further, or they don't care.

I assume we just wait for this code to turn up from OCUK for this? Got my 3000 series card yday but no code yet. Know game isn't out yet but don't want to forget about it..
