watch Luminous question

Does keeping a watch with a Luminous face in the dark for a while damage the effectivness of it, just asking because i have a Seamaster that id had stored in its box for about a year and now im using it again it doesnt hold its Luminous charge where as my Oris lasts for a while.

i have left the omega on the window ledge for a day but it still doesnt hold the brightness very long

doesnt really bother me m8 was just wondering if they do lose there charge over the years as it is about 10 years old, was just wondering if i could have damaged it by leaving it in the dark for so long
