Thinking of treating myself to a Breitling, and was wondering whether to haggle for a discount at the dealer.

I know it's common practice to give discounts off rrp for certain brands, but I was wondering whether you knew if it would work with Breitlings :)

Can't hurt haggling, they are not going to ban you from buying a watch if you try.

Thanks for that William :)

I know they won't ban me LOL, but it's common practice with some brands, and not others.

I can imagine them being a little unused to it, I have an image of most people who buy Breitlings that they go "Oh yes of couse I will pay full RRP and give you a Bently on top". That in mind they may be shocked into giving you a discount. :p

(In my experiance the sort of people that have "expensive" watches are exactly the sort of people who would be most likly to haggle.

I already have a Tag, which cost as much as the Breitling possibly will anyway, so I don't know if that classes me as one of Spamalot's "sort of people who would be most likley to haggle" or not, but my philosophy is why pay more than I have to?

If I'm paying potentially 2.5 grand for a watch, and I can get the same watch for 2 grand, then I'd be bloody stupid not to wouldn't you say? Buy me a few G&Ts down the yacht club that would :)

Hint and tip. You don't accumulate money by giving the stuff away when you don't have to ;)

And before anyone pipes up with the immortal "why would you pay x for a watch..... blah blah, I can get one in Asda that will tell the time blah blah", then please don't bother. I want one, I have the money, I feel like treating myself to one, so I'm most likely going to.

20% on a Breitling is absolute minimum , 24 % possible with a bit of work ,30% occasionally achievable on less popular models , depends to a small extent on the model , Navitimers tend to be nearer the 20% end of the range

What sort of % would I be able to get of the cheapest seamaster? Just a ball park.

If you wanted to drop me an email (around about Wednesday), I have found a dealer giving 240 quid off a new Seamaster Pro 2254.50 with the full 2 year Omega International Warranty. They're bought in bulk from an authorised dealer on the continent, date left blank - then sold by a non AD here who dates the warranty.

There's a couple of non-AD dealers here that do this. My new Seamaster arrives Wednesday, so I'll be able to confirm then if it's 100% legit then. And handily I'll get the 7 day DSR cooling off period thingy.

My local bricks and mortar AD's here in Leeds will only give me a max of £150 off, something has definitely changed recently with Omega as I got more discount three months back when I bought my first Seamaster and Planet Oceans.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a G-Shock on the cheap online? My ~6 year old one lost a button while windsurfing last week, and I need a 'black digital watch' for during training.
