I have a ted baker watch that my sister got me for my 18th. Last week it stopped after a bloc party gig, i thought it must just be a battery as its over a year old, coming up to 2. Took it to the jewlers, however they changed the battery and said this was not the fault, it needs cleaning

I would have thought that watches will be sealed (It is water proof) and therefore the internals could not get dust etc into them. Anybody who is a watch guru who can shed some light on this, i would be very grateful :D

As feek says they do dry up though it would be poor at that age

Even if it needs a new movement this shouldn't be an expensive job

afaik all ted baker watches are quartz,if its knackered after a few years and they have asked for £22 its just to get the movement replaced (thats probably what they are doing anyway) ,a quartz watch costs more to clean than replace.
