A learning algorithm that rewards based on distance travelled (and speed I presume)...

Mine always ends up with some one wheeled monster. Though in one generation it mutated from a 1 wheeler to having 6 wheels :D

Thought this might interest a few...

You have to let it run for a while then it'll start designing ones that actually work.

yeh i know, they getting better.

i once had a app that did the evolution on trying to make boxes walk or jump as far as they could. Could leave it running for days before it got good results, then you would decide to change the goals and those creatures would have to adapt all over again. Cool process, but some people just think god made us.....

damn it pauses when you are not watching it :(

Generation 4 has been a large downward step here... It's interesting to watch though.

i think the cars got better, the terrain just got impossible. But evolution goes through downward steps too.... im sure it will bounce back... im gona leave this running for a long while i think. Shame it has to be in view, and doesn't run in the backround :(

Runs in the background here on Chrome. Just open it in a separate window.

It's pretty interesting to watch. If you read the 'best cars' page it tells you that it once evolved a car that broke the simulation and got maximum score in a few seconds. Kinda cool :o

Easy enough to make things evolve when you give it defined goals and defined steps by which it can evolve.

Not arguing against evolution, just saying that examples like this don't really show evolution in the true sense that we see in nature.

cant get past 905.9, Gen 17 lol. They are all getting close though, not many bad ones so my average is going up. Soon something will get past it.

Still Gen 8, still trying to use the same shapes with the same outcome.
