Watch your computer learn to design a new "car"...

238 generations later, the best my cars can go is 962.6 on the hills. Though the history suggests its gone further?

I think the red line is the maximum distance for the course and the black line is an average for the generation.

I just tried this on the terrain that is simply a ramp of increasing steepness and with that you really see some logical progression as you go through the generations. The others did tend to peak early and then go a bit random.

600 generations later on the hills, 11 of my cars reach 1013.2, 0.8 off the world record!
The hill is a fraction to steep to climb up.

I think it will just end up with 20 cars reaching the exact same point eventually.

mine does nothing. spawns some shapes with some wheels and thats it.

It takes quite a while to generate something useful, it's not really something you sit and watch, just leave it running somewhere for a few hours and see what you get.

After 10 generations mine turned out with something that looked like an F1 car, it has a chunky rear wheel, spoiler, low chassi and front wheel with low front lip, wasn't half bad either!

Up to generation 317 (pc crashed so lost 150) and I've had 3 cars make it to 1013.6 in 1min58. Taken so many generations as it love spawning cars upside down.

Won't be a best seller:

They have updated this now. Has a figure for torque on the page which I assume is just another variable to throw into the mix... oh and the cars can actually break now :p

Nothing quite like shedding a bit of weight as you go down the track ;)

Oh and their are two more terrains but I haven't tried them yet.
