Rightio, well i consider myself to be reasonably masculine *gr*.

But i watched 'The Descent' on Rental DvD last night with a friend returned from University - and i can openly admit, i very almost soiled myself. Never before have i been *So* scared in a film, i was hiding behind the pillow like a big Power Puff Girl Fairyboy.

The sick part is, i want more - i am in search of suggestions for modern films (lets say, up to 5 years old) that will absolutely well and truly make me wet my pants. Films along the lines of Blair Witch/The Descent are what i am looking for - i can watch blood and guts and gore fighting all day long, but the scary 'in the dark' factor is what i am looking for.

So go on Ocuk, Pimp my pants.

Edit: Sorry didn't see this forum for the movies :)

I watched Descent and got bored by it, didn't think it was scary in any way. But if you want a movie that will really screw you up I can only suggest Watership Down....

:O Watership Down is a sick film!

I'm gonna rent/see Creep and Saw 2 Asap!

I thought it was one if not the worst film I have seen, trully awful. It wasn't scary at all. Saw and The ring are great horror films.

Just goes to show how different we are, doesn't it?
I thought Descent was the biggest pile of poo since I watched Saw .... absolute tosh! both of 'em, as far as I'm concerned.
I don't watch that many films so was very teeed off with those two.

You may have gathered that I was less than impressed. :(

:)

I enjoyed The Descent, and was suitably scared by it.

Saw however is a mountainous pile of steaming horse cack, and I certainly wouldn't describe it as a horror film.

Yep, then you have the evil rabbits basically ripping apart and eating the nice rabbits in a blood frenzied evil music'ed 5 minute long scene, which frankly, is scary for adults let alone children!

show girls!

I agree, the acting alone was the single scariest thing in film history, but the naked girls helped me to watch the film to the end. ;)

If you happen to have Sky, there's currently a season of horror films on Bravo I think, some of them look quite good as well. :)

Creep is as the title of the film suggests...just a bit creepy. A lot of it is very funny, especially the comatose heroin addicts getting picked off.

I would have said the grudge was a very good film to watch if you fancy being scared, the sound efects for the woman that embodies the "grudge" are spine tingling.

the eye - I think its called that, its a Japanese film with English subtitles, about a girl who has been blind all her life and she has an operation to give her her sight. quite scary in bits, excellent film
