Watched 'The Descent' On Dvd, need more.

If you dont mind scary films with subtitles then the Asian horror scene is where it's at...infact the only good horror films are coming from that side of the world at the moment then being made into poor versions for the general public.

Anyway the following are those that you MUST see (none are particularly gory just downright pack your pants scray...well to me they were :p )

Ju-on Series...4 films 2 TV movies - Ju-On 1 & 2, 2 Cinema movies - Ju-on: The Grudge 1 & 2 (Grudge 1 was just remade with Sarah Michelle Gellar)
Ring Series...3 films (2 have been remade & both arent anywhere near as good as the originals)
A Tale of Two Sisters
Cursed
Phone
Kairo: Pulse
R Point
The Eye 1 & 2
Accacia
Dark Water (Again just remade)

Those should keep you busy for a while.

My vote goes to:

The Ring (remake - not the jap version) on your own, with the lights off, after midnight! You will be ****ting bricks I promise you!

see for me its the opposite way round, watch the orginal after midnight by yourself in the dark, and u'll be able to say you crap the bed.

so far all films mentioned dont even reach over a 2 on the scareo scale, the ring films barely even get a tingle factor 1, original included.

Try something like

hellraiser or event horizon, they push a little closer to 5 and above, i await the day some pyscho makes an 8 or 9.

see for me hellraiser was laughable, even when i saw it way back, and event horizon was pretty poor.

for me its the fear of the unknown and that "what the hells going on" thought runnin through me head.

in hellraiser you see some big ass fat thing coming down a corridoor at you you just start laughing. As for event horizon, everything was explained far to quickly for my liking, its a bit like jeepers creepers monster, at the start i was all like "what the hell is it" then when it got explained it was a case of "what is that it?".

Thats where a lot of films shoot themselves in the foot, revealing there monster/scare factor way to early, they need to learn the art of building up suspense gradually, then unleashing the cack your kecks bit.

Creep is good in this way, especially the early subway section where she is on the train and the lights go out, i thought that was really good.

films like the ring and creep rely to heavily on random loud noise to make u jump, naturally. They have no scareyness in the general storyline, watching 120minutes of build up for 5 minutes of loud is boring.

I thought The Descent and Creep were quite good and scary movies to be honest.

Creep did exactly as the title suggests; creepd me out. I never expected much, as I knew it was a budget film. Maybe that is why people don't like it so much, 'cause they expect it to be more than what it is.

To be honest, those two films are scary like that, in their own way and I haven't seen any before that are quite like them.
