Hi folks, I have a 1st gen AppleTV and want to mod it, specifically in order to use it to view iPlayer, 4oD, ITV Player etc.

I've seen mods like aTV Flash and Plex through a quick Google search but I'm newb in this area and not sure which I need to do what I want.

Any help those who are in-the-know can offer would be appreciated!

Thanks

I have a jailbroken second gen Apple TV and tbh most of the time I use Airplay from an iOS device for those things (plus Catchup TV for live freeview channels).

So, if you can get Airplay hacked on to a first gen in a way that you can stream from regular iOS apps that would be my suggestion.

Or perhaps XBMC, the iPlayer and TVCatchup addons for XBMC work great, I haven't looked for addons for the others you mention - I rarely watch any other channels). I _think_ XBMC can also work as a receiver for Airplay, so that might be an option too.

(The above is all based on my experiences with a second gen Apple TV though)

Thanks for the info. I did a bit more reading and ended up buying an ATV3 today (only £80 - paid almost £300 when I bought he ATV1!) because it fully supports AirPlay and display mirroring with the iPad 3.

Seemed like a much simpler solution!
