I'm struggling with the whole getting movies on ipad thing :) How do I get my collection of downloaded movies and TV on to the ipad to watch? So I have a mixture of MKV, AVI etc etc.

Is there an app I need to convert them to something Ipad will play? I want to keep them in HD if poss.

Any suggestions would be great

Thanks :)

No need to convert, download the app AVPlayerHD (or alternative video playing app) then use Wi-Fi or iTunes to transfer. Easy.

My experiences with AVPlayerHD have been hit and miss. Doesn't seem to handle 720p all that well (MKV - Ipad2). Trouble is, i am yet to find a better solution (apart from airvideo but that is for streaming).

If like me you prefer a smoother experience than AVPlayerHD

A program called xenonmkv will change the format within 5 minutes and you'll have a perfect Mp4 for playback with the Official Video App.

Does vlcstreamer work on the ipad? sorry I don't have an ipad but I know on the iphone it does a great job of what you need.

Don't use handbrake, takes longer than XenonMKV. I've tried a gazillion different daft programs, this was by far the best on Windows (Assuming that's your desktop...)
