ours is a 3 bed house with 3 bathrooms ( 1 bath , 2 showers , 3 toilets etc ) , all a bit overkill as only 2 of us live here

I already had a water meter fitted when I moved here, at first I was annoyed that I couldn't get rid of it but now I'm happy as my water bills are around half of what they were before!

The only cutback I have had to make is the garden sprinkler as leaving this on for a few hours can really add to your bill! :eek:

the water board should be shot
they tryed to charge us for sewerage etc and we have our own treatment plant as they don't service our area!!!!
cheaky buggers tryed to fob us off that it was for "other" services too!

I don't think you fully understand what's involved in bringing drinkable water into your house....

202 for 4 people ( 6 months ) could be just about ok if you have high usuage

Rule of thumb, the average household on a meter (people without meters have a higher avaerage) is responsible for consuming approx 140 litres per person per day. Let's say they use 280 litres per day and they've been there 150 days (5 months approx) then they would have used 42,000 litres. So they're on the low side if you compare it to the national average.

I am on a meter, and really no one can moan, as your being charged for what you use.

Eh..!! I pay around £80 per quarter for water and sewage. Same sized house by the sounds of it. Average for me yearly has been around £360 - £400 a year. Two, each running a bath every night, general usage etc... Yours sounds very cheap compared to mine..!!

Running two baths a nght isn't going ot do you any favours

I work for a water company, and it does sound quite high, although the biggest charge in our area is for the sewerage, I guess it's the same elsewhere?

But then we do have the highest water charges in the country I think
