Water block compatability

Hi guys

Just need reassuring that the blocks I've chose for my watercooling build are compatible

for the rive motherboard I have chose this

i'll be running 2 gtx780s in sli with these blocks

and using an sli terminal to bridge them together

with a terminal blank to close the middle port as i'm only using 2 cards

First time watercooling so still getting my head around blocks and stuff, it says some blocks aren't compatible with CSQ which is the circle square design would this be a problem as the rive block is CSQ design, or is it just the terminal bridge and the VGA blocks that have to be the same because they are fitting to each other basically like a whole unit?

It is all fine, provided your 780s are compatible with the blocks you have chosen. The compatibility issue applies to some full cover blocks and the terminals. Older terminals and blocks have the CSQ design but many are still compatible with each other, depending on which block and terminal you are talking about. The ones linked are compatible as far as i know, but i would check the cooling configurator on EKWB website anyway, just in case.

My 780s are the reference design so they should be fine with the VGA blocks I chose, and yeah I'll check out the website, much appreciated, thanks mate

Np, be sure to post pictures once it is done. If you don't have TIM yet, i recommend MX4 or MX2 for the blocks as it is non electrically conductive. Blocks from EK should come with some TIM and all the thermal pads you need with some spare, but having extra TIM is always handy.

If you haven't ordered it yet EK actually make a cheaper one with just the VRM block and a passive heatsink for the chipset, if you have ordered it just use the VRM one, the chipset on X79 boards doesn't get hot enough to warrant water cooling so all the chipset block is doing is adding restriction/complexity to the loop, I swapped mine back to the stock chipset cooler in the end.

Thanks for the info mate, it was mainly for quieting the system as the PCH fan on the rive is annoyingly loud, just out of curiosity would it trouble you to link me the cheaper version? thanks mate
