Hi there,

Been talking on here for a while now about my new rig and after a lot of research im seriously considering going to water. The only thing is ive never used water before and is scares the hell out of me.

How wise is it for me to try water given my lack of experience? Im looking to spend around 1300 and no more. Can a decent rig on water be done for that price?

My air build was looking like:

CPU
Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail

GPU
MSI GeForce GTX 780Ti Gaming Edition 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Mobo
Gigabyte Z87X-OC Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

Case
Corsair Carbide 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case - Black (CC-9011030-WW)

PSU
EVGA SuperNova G2 850W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply

CPU Cooler
Corsair Hydro H105 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060016-WW )

Memory
TeamGroup Vulcan ORANGE 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLAD38G2400HC11CDC01)

Total: £1325(ish)

Would really love some help to spec out a water system and get advice/tips. The pure fact you can keep temps so much lower and do some good overclocking - and of course noise levels - all point me towards water!

I can knock you one up, ill tell you now. You won't get a 780ti in there, a 780/290 would be more likely.

Cheers man - thats fair play. I might try get increase my budget if possible but for now i feel having a fixed amount stops me going crazy. Id rly love to have a ti under water. I assume its cost that would prevent me

as you are trying to go the route of water-cooling I'd keep the 780 and your budget and use the waterloop to squeeze the most out of that 780 a possible

I think a pump+res is easier to bleed ect.. more so than a res combo they are just a nightmare. (imo)

As for the RAM i always go corsair/gskill and gfx card i dont think you can beat EVGA for support.

But clearly the price goes up and up! That price is inc £20 postage which i would ring up and get ocuk to remove as many forum members are getting it free anyway! and if i was spending over a grand i would want free P&P.

As for pipe you cant beat acrylic pipe, rubber is full of plasticiser and looks crap after 4 months

I have 6 1m lengths you can have if you want to do rigid pipe! the down side is if you like changing things every 2 weeks you have to keep redoing the pipe !
