Hi folks,

Am looking for a pump that could drive a couple of sprinklers and even a pressure washer from Water Butts/Tanks. There's a Hozelock one providing 3.5bar pressure, but its a tad expensive. Dirty water ones seem cheaper but I don't think they're necessarily what I'm after, and the ones I've seen so far all say whilst submersible you can't leave them in the water butt permanently. I suppose if you can't, you can't.

What do you call a tad expensive? We have a small sewerage treatment plant which utilizes a permanent submersible. Originally a Grundfos KP150 but these are stupidly overpriced so I fitted an identical looking stainless Ebara Best One which can be had under £200. Currently it's been down there 3 years.
I've fitted cheaper (sub £50) pumps in the past and they always fail quickly due to water ingress causing an earth fault. As you say not meant to be permanently submerged.

Have a look at aquarium pumps. Ive a couple of return pumps that can move an outragous amount of water and are obviously designed to be permanently submerged
