Water butts fastest way to extract water

fit a 2 inch valve to the water butt

Another way is the higher the water butt the faster the water will come out ,That if you have a hose fitted to it tap.
I.E the lower the hose exit is below the water the faster it will come out as the hose will act like a Syphon..

Yeah it's fed from a shed roof which has a massive tree above, the guttering goes directly into the butt but doesn't seem to affect the flow the water always comes out at the same rate just that rate isn't fast enough for a hose

What about a guard for the downspout? My water butt is fed from a roof covered in moss and other crap but a leaf/grit guard does a decent job of keeping the water butt pretty clean.

Unless the butt is swimming with leaves and moss I bet something like this would work very well

I didn't realise you could get one to fit directly to the shed guttering I'll add it to my list, thanks
