Bit unsure on what brand of tubing to use, Seems to be some very expence stuff around whats the best brand to go for ?

I take it that its best to build the loops with 1/2" barbs and tubing ?

Use metal barbs over plastic ones ?

Better to use barbs that use orings or the type that you seal with PTFE tape ?

3/8" Tygon. More expensive, more flexible. You can use it with 1/2" barbs.
use metal barbs over plastic. More rubust (wont crimp easiliy) and will last longer when dealing with low temperatures (like if your PC is outside or using a Waterchiller)

O rings do the job. No need for PTFE tape nowadays, although using both could be a wise preventative measure.
