hi people it just turned in my head to go water cooling for visual and sound purposes... as my sig i have a antec nine hundred do you think is possible to fit a kit in there?

I want to cool cpu which is a Q6600 and my g card which is a asus 8800 gts 640mb card it will be 2 of them soon enuf but gettin the cooler for it and that little xtra tubin can be ordered at a later date.

I'am hoping to reduce my noise from my pc if thats possible

could someone spec me a kit that will cool my stuff but be very quite at the same time?

It is possible to get a 120.2mm radiator in the front of that case, but you're left with very few drive bays. The roof is out because of the big fan. The floor is also difficult because of the position of the PSU, plus it's just not a very big case inside.

So, if you don't want to do lots of modding involving saws, drills and cut hands, I would suggest you look at the Swiftech Apex Ultra+ kit which comes with everything you need to fix the radiator externally on the back of a 120mm fan duct. Every part of that kit is good - pump (excellent), radiator (the best 120.2 that's not Thermochill), CPU and GPU blocks (not the very best, but right up there), reservoir (excellent!), connectors, tubing and additives - and you'll be able to use all the 1/2" parts with anything you buy custom in the future.

Alternatively, the Swiftech Apex Ultra kit is a good bit cheaper, but only cools the CPU, and buy an EK Full Cover GTS block from elsewhere.

For proper quiet I would suggest a pair of AC AF12025-PWM 120mm fans. These daisy-chain off the CPU fan header socket and will actually stop if the CPU is idling, such is the cooling capacity of the radiator and pump.

I could not recommend the Alphacool kits as they are all made up of pretty second-rate parts except the pumps (the DDC pump is very good, but wasted in those kits). And the Thermaltake kit isn't as good as the best air coolers.

As good as the Swiftech kits are though - a proper custom setup will still beat it for similar money.

thanks for the reply but Swiftech Apex Ultra+ is out of stock on oc, i would generally buy from here cos i have good history with them also when phoning to order it they could give me info on it and advice which helps.

couldnt the rad be fitted outside the case where my fan is? i have the 2 water tubing holes already thats what gave me the idea to go water cooling

Yes

Swiftech H20-220 Apex Ultra Watercooling Kit (Socket 462/478/LGA775/754/939/940)

Contents

Apogee waterblock
- MCR220 Radiator
- MCP655 12V DC Pump
- MCRES-MICRO reservoir
- MCB120 Radbox radiator mounting adapter
- 7/16" ID Tubing

The H20-Apex kit is shipped standard with our MCB120 "Radbox" which allows the radiator to be installed at the back of practically any mid-or full tower cases with no other modifications than a couple of holes

The MCB-120 "Radbox" is an external radiator mounting kit for water cooled systems. This product is designed to install a 120mm radiator and fan externally to the computer chassis, using the existing 60mm, 80mm, 92mm, or 120mm fan mounting holes! It comes with a custom pass-thru PCI bracket and adapters to route the tubing and fan connector through a PCI slot back into the case. This certainly is another innovate product that is featured in the H20-220 APEX ULTRA kit, that will work magic for those with cases that do not support 120mm fans.

OK - so why ask here then? And maybe in future make your query more precise eg. "Please only recommend something currently in stock at OcUK" to save me wasting my time.

If you're not actually going to read the responses why ask questions? I suggested those kits specifically because they do allow you mount the radiator outside, but a couple of holes in the case for the tubing to pass through for mounting the radiator is only your first problem - but I'm sure the OcUK telesales advisors will be able to tell you which radiators match up with the holes on the outside of the case without having to cut or drill, won't they?

Read my posting here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17808722 which shows my first attempt at water cooling.

This is not something you must take lightly, or cut corners on. I ended up buying the right case and the right hardware to cool my PC and ended up with fantastic results.

If you're planning to cool a cpu and 2 cards, then think carefully and plan it from the start. Otherwise you will waste money. I will be more than happy to help you plan, but you really must listen to the advice of those who have experience in this field.

Predator yeah that would be great for some help with a plan so i could do this.
i did read up on some tips today on water cooling but as i said aslong it looks good and its quiter by replacing my old cpu fan and g card fan i will be happy.
