Woo hoo my 1st post, gotta a say i love this site but never registered , not sure why.

Anyway ive wanted to go water cooled ever since i built my first system but was inexpierenced and a little firghtened of doing some damage.

The reasons are because 1. Lower temps, 2. Quiter pc.

Ive been looking online and am non the wiser but found this which has had some good reviews

----> http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Water_Cooling_667.html

I actually found it on another site a little cheaper for £41 which is very cheap what it offers and i can put iside my system.

What do you all think?

Or is a waste of my money should i just aim for something better?

Thanks

Gary

My birthday's in November ill have to get everyone to give me money ;)

Welcome to the forums mate :D

Don't wast your cash on a cheapo wc setup, not worth the money imo,if you are going to do that ,you will probably get no better temps/oc that a half decent air setup.

As stated above, far better to go with one of the swiftech kits, then you can't really go wrong ;)

The trust button is for when you get access the the Members market,a kind of feedback system for buying & selling

What kind of temps am i realistically going to be seeing with a setup like above?

At the moment im at 37-38 idle / 46-50 load

and when overclocked to 3.5ghz i idle at 50-56 (wont run the risk of runningit on load with those idle temps)

I've never seen it before but judging by the price it seems too good to be half descent. If it was good i'm sure I would have seen it around much more. Get the kits suggested by others.

oh, and no linking to competitor sites ;)

Hard to tell what temps you will get mate, lots of variables.Although you should see a big improvement with temps ;) and of course the silence :D Thats the main reason i watercool

If you can afford it,the Apex kit is the one to go for, great bit of kit for a first time watercooler

as the post above says, you better edit your post & remove the link, not allowed on the forum

Ok thanks guys,

Post updated, apolagies i didn't know.

Ill be ordering one wc kits in the next month.

AS not to start another thread my Asus N6800 cooler is so noisy, and been looking at w/c or an aftermarket cooler for that also.

I have read a few posts that reccomend these 2

NV Silencer 5 (Rev. 3) & Zalman VF700-cu but does say that i may have probs with the Asus gpu board, is this true and which of the two is better?

Gary

If you are going for the apex kit,why not just buy the Swiftech MCW60 block for your gfx card ? the kit will cope with that no problem ;)

If thats not an option,i used to use the Zalman VF700-cu on my 7800GT & it is a great cooler, can't comment on the other as i've not used it

Sorry i didnt see that at the bottom.

Great idea, with the cpu and vga w/c do i need any case fans?

ie mobo cooling?

As above will i be ok with w/c on my asus card as suggested on other threads?

You need case fans,as you still need airflow through your case ;)

What kind of problems are people having fitting blocks/vga coolers to this card & why ?
Cant see why either would'nt fit, looking at pics of your card, but not 100% sure,so better getting conformation of this from someone else

Rob

I read something about the pin arrangement being different on the Asus card unless thats just for an aftermarket cooler as apposed to w/c.

What about room in my pc? do need to be aware of anything?

Thanks Rob,

Just had a quick look and at the moment i dont know how ill fit it in my case.

I have 4 hdd a gfx card and a wifi card so theres not a lot of room but did see some externally mounted.

Ill have a proper look later when ive finished work and if i get time ill get a few pitures up to give you some idea what im up against.

Credit to some of those rigs, very nice.
