Hiya,

I don;t know a great deal about H2O cooling, just looking for some advise,

Firstly what kit is needed?

Am I correct in thinking, I need a rad, a pump, and tank and just pipes and wterblocks for the area I want wet cooled?

2ndly, what is the best liquid to use? standard water? would it be a good idea to boil the crap out of it.

3rdly, What kind of power consumption is typical in costs per month running the water kit?

Being new to it myself, I can only point to things already mentioned /recommended to me.

I would build your own rather than buy pre-built, that way you can plan for expansion with minimal other upgrades.
1/2 barbs seems to be the best for flow, everything else depends on what you want to cool.
Needed components are rad+fans, pump, resovoir (though some people just use a tube, I prefer the idea of a res myself), and whatever tubing and blocks you want.
No not standard water ...you could use distilled with some anti-freeze in, but you can buy specific liquids for the job that are non-conductive ... useful if you get any leaks. and have anti-corosion stuff included. even UV reactive if thats your bag :)
power consumption ... well the pump is the only thing to consume power, (well, fans too, but that will be minimal) the one I have chosen is 9W, others wiill vary but I dont think most draw much more than 20W.
0verall not a great deal of extra draw considering the rest of the system.

Hopefully, if I have made any mistakes, someone with more knowledge will correct me :)

Use distilled water (not ionised) and a bit of anti corresive/anti bactarial stuff. You get 5 litres of distilled waterdelivered to your door for about £16.
