Water damaged hard drive help

So I spilt cooling fluid on my mechanical drive and now I get rhythmic clicking when I power it up and also can't access the drive at all.

I know someone who has the same hard drive for sale. Would switching around the PCB's give a chance of being able to access the drive and access my data ?

Also do I have any other options ?

Have you thoroughly dried the drive? Shove it in a bag of rice for a couple of days and try again

Right so the drive only clicks when I use a sata to usb enclosure. However when connected to the motherboard the system doesn't boot or if I connect it after I have logged in windows explorer hangs.

@d brennan I've put the drive in a container of silica gel for a day and a half.

It is POSSIBLE that swapping the controller board will sort it out. I wouldn't bet £1 that it would, however
