We've just received a letter from Southern Water inviting us to have a free home water survey. In other words they are considering putting water meters in!!!

What comparison have you experienced since having a water meter put in bill wise, higher, lower or the same?

It's a one way street - once installed cannot be uninstalled. As with all meters the idea is to get you on the meter then rise price per unit.

My "area average" water bill is £250 a year. There is no calculation on earth that would convince me paying per unit is cheaper...

We're a family of 3 adults, have a washing machine, dishwasher, have daily showers etc etc. How does that compare with different sized families who's water bills have dropped after getting a meter?

Voluntarily metered here - two adults. Our bills have dropped by about a third since moving to a meter.

I personally think meters should be compulsory for everyone.
