Water pump question

OK I have my CPU cooled by a Zalman reserator (I have built my PC to be as quiet as possible). I have removed the internal pump and am using an external one which works fine.

I have noticed recently that the pump is making a rattling noise. Furthermore I have my whole PC (and peripherals) powered from a Belkin UPS and I have noticed that when the Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) kicks in the pump goes silent!

The noise is obviously caused by iregular voltage to the pump. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a separate voltage regulator I can get to ALWAYS regulate the voltage?

I am currently waiting for a cable for my UPS so I can check it's config to see if I can set AVR to always be on. Would there be a down side to this?

Any help / comments greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
