quick q just been too my car shop when i asked for distilled water they have giving me de-ionised water so this is ok for Zalman Reserator1 v2?

De-ionised is slightly less pure than distilled (but not that it matters as you will be adding a load of additives anyway).

It is also considerably cheaper 5L of de-ionised at Halfords £3.49. 1L of distilled about £20 and not easy to find. If you know any Chemistry teachers then they should have some distilling equipment and knock you out some for a pint or two.

Boots sell purified water at £5.01 for 5L which is what I'm currently using in my loop.

sorry to hijack this thread but saves making a new one ...
my w/c is due to be replaced but dont want to spend another £33 for 2ltr's
anyway, ive got a bottle of HydrX which came with my swiftech kit but it says 2 fl. oz. to 1l and my rig needs 1.5ltr so if i get 5ltr of distilled/de-ionised water tomorrow do you think ill be safe to mix this one bottle with 1.5ltr or will i have to order more additive? (bear in mind i cant find this stuff anywhere)

Will be fine as long as you're not mixing copper and aluminium in the loop.

thanks, the swiftech storm and DD maze4 are both copper afaik but think my barbs on the DD dualbay are aluminium, dont know if they count?

Yeah those barbs will count as the water is running through them so can carry the aluminium to the copper I would have thought.

can someone please suggest what additives i should use so i can order a few bottles?
this water has been in here too long now and really needs changing before the conroe goes in

one last thing, when draining my system can i remove the cpu & gpu then power it up for a few secs to pump all/most of the water out? dont want to dismantle if i can help it

i got some distilled water today but didnt realize i needed to flush it although the water is still very clean (think i jumped into w/c too quickly )

Yeah, the barbs will be either Nickel or chrome plated. Either of which is so close in the electrically they won't create too strong a battery .
