PSU died (I think)

****PSU problem further down -- Post 14****

I have a reference HD6950. Im just about to buy a waterblock for it, but was wondering whether my original backplate will fit or if I will need an EK one?

Depends entirely on the length of the supplied screws. I would have thought that the supplied mounting kit would allow for the original back plate, but I would check with someone with first hand experience. Which HD6950 is it?

Its the Sapphire 2GB reference.

Will 1lt of fluid be enough for a GPU, CPU, slim 280, normal 120 and say 1.5m of 1/2ID tubing? My maths isnt the best today :p

I may have a photo of my GPU PCB if you want to check against yours for the Razor? I will drop it into my thread later this evening.

Thanks, bought anyway, can always return under DSR anyway.
Would be nice to see what the 6950 vs 6970 looks like mind.

Right, just got everything set up, crossed the green and black (nothing else) and it worked fine. Flicked it on and off about 3 times (not quickly, about 10 seconds apart), I then filled it up fully and turned it on again and nothing.

Ive tried my other PSU (HX620) and that works, but it clicks, which Im not happy about.....am I doing something wrong?

Leave it running for a while and see if the clicking clears up, I freaked out when I first started my pump as it made a horrible clicking/grinding noise. Left it running and it soon cleared up, seemingly was down to air in the system.

Its the second PSU clicking though, its the first time its done this, been a constant runner in my HTPC for ages with no problems.....but what about the first PSU that died, its not like it was under any stress to overwhelm it.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.....it must have had a little surge or something as its working fine now (I had this problem with my old Corsair unit before this one)....my friend who is a WC guru had a little look and said that 99% of the bubbles have gone, its the easiest rig he's ever done. Time to get it all set up, temp tested and pictured :).....longest 12 hours EVER

EDIT: Psu flopped again....its after every 3-4 times its flicked on and off...Ill put this into the general sub forum....more people reading, plus its not a WC problem any more.
