Hey Guys,

I have the kit below and I am looking at a watercooling my rig to actually quieten it and try and clock it higher.

Corsair 600T case
Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4
Intel i7 2600k @4.2ghz but can go up to 4.7ghz on air

ATi 5850 but looking at a watercooled ATi 7970

Ideally need a thin rad for the top of the case so the original grill can go back on and then I guess a second rad at the bottom of the case.

Well after doing some research I have come up the following for a fist stab at the parts list:

Rads
Hardware Labs Black Ice® GT Stealth Lite 240mm Dual Radiator
Phobya Xtreme 200mm Radiator

CPU Block
EK Supreme HF CPU Waterblock - Nickel Acetal

Pump
Laing D5 Vario Pump -T12 12V DC Pump
EK-D5 X-Top V2 Acetal G1/4" - Pump Top

Reservoir
EK Multioption Reservoir X2 250 Advanced

Don't bother with the GT stealth. EX rads are MUCH better.

Nickel acetal... Infidel!:p
I'd go for plexi, but only because I prefer the aesthetics.

I'd get an alpha cool top as they are cheaper and pretty much the same.

Would have to be one of these then for the top rad:

EK CoolStream Radiator XT 240 (120.2)

I figure there will be enough piping for people to gawk at when put a window in the case without the plexi :p

Purley huh? I am in coulsdon half the week and Devon the other half :D

Will update my list :)

Any experience with the Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850 RPM? 21db should be pretty much silent on the top rad...

Really want to avoid getting out the dremel. If I was going to start cutting would look at getting a 360 slim up there.

Its why I was looking at the black ice slim. Combined with the extreme 200 it should have enough cooling to run the 2600k at 4.7ghz and an overclocked 7970.

But it needs to be quiet as well lol

What's the max thickness?

Top of radiator mounting bracket on the case to the edge of the motherboard is 30mm.

But from the edge of the case to motherboard is 10mm and edge of case to mounting bracket is 40mm so I think I can go up to 35mm which takes it quite close to the RAM sockets and CPU fan.

Think I will create a mock up using florists oasis then I know it will fit :p

Ok so rads are decided as long as it fits :)

Next up, fans!!!

Next issue is attempting to find a 6950 that has a full block available :(

I might be forced down the 570GTX route...

Ok so parts list is currently:

Phobya Xtreme 200mm
XSPC EX Series 240mm Dual
EK-FC580 DCII - Acetal+EN (Nickel)
XSPC RayStorm CPU Waterblock for Intel
Laing D5 (Alphacool VPP655-T12) Variable Speed 12V Pump
EK D5 X-Top Rev.2 for Laing D5 Pumps
Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm Case Fan 1450 RPM (3)
EK PSC 1/4" Thread Compression Fitting for 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD Tubing : Black Nickel
Tygon R3603 7/16" ID - 5/8" OD (11-16mm) Tubing : Clear (3m)
Mayhems X1 Premix Fluid 3 litres -UV Blue
Asus 1280MB GeForce GTX 570 DirectCU II

Works out at around £640

Also,m waht about a res?

So the res (which I forgot to add) would be the 150 advance.

Only reason I didn't go for the alpha cool was I was trying to get all the gear from one place :)

Asus I can pick up new for around £360, found it a nightmare finding a reasonably priced reference 570. Looked at the 6950 but again most seem to be non-reference and really want a full gpu block.

Also noticed I only need 2 gentle typhoons :)
