Hey folks,

At the moment, I have 2x r290s under water. I have a third which after changing my board last night to an Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z Z68 (rolls off the tongue), no matter which slots I use, there doesn't seem to be a way of using conventional fittings to plumb them all together because of the spacing of the PCI-e slots on the board. So, I'm guessing I need something like this:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BG-030-EK

(I'll probably source a serial version)

Is the above all I need, or do I also need some of these:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-195-EK

(Again, serial or parallel dependent)

The cards have the ek water blocks attached.

My next question is, are the slots on the motherboard spaced correctly for the above to work? Not sure how they are fitted at the moment, but I assume they are pre set so simply have to align to the slots on the mobo. Hope that makes sense : )

Any help would be appreciated, as I've just rebuilt my system into a phanteks primo case, on the new mobo, and now have a r290 in it's box still. Never been one for forward planning me. Grrrrrr ; )

Thanks

Thanks

I've thought about that, but all the fittings I have are too long to be 'pointing' towards each other. Barb fittings for example, if the gap is say an inch between the cards, the length of the 2 fittings combined is over an inch meaning there is no way of doing it

Compression type fittings maybe? Are they smaller?

The Ek fittings are 2-slot minimum. The board only has a 2-slot gap between the first and second x16 slots with the rest using a 1 slot gap.

Unfortunately, all their bridge terminals use a min 2-slot gap too. (Btw, the bridge linked in the OP is for older FC blocks).

The only way I can see is to cut down an acrylic tube link and hope that the fittings for them are low profile enough.
Failing that, maybe get creative with some 90° fittings and tubing.

ED: I'm a donut :o Hang on a sec and I'll find a bridge that you can use with the first, second and fourth x16 slots.
There you go: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-349-EK&groupid=962&catid=1529&subcat=2267 Out of stock, but I'm sure you find one somewhere.
Cheaper and simpler than a collection of HD links and fittings, but they're still an option :)

I'm assuming you're not using CSQ blocks?

Brilliant, thanks for that : )

The bridge would just work I suppose. Is that all thats needed, or is there more too it? The blocks I'm using are these:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-461-EK&groupid=962&catid=1520&subcat=2765

Back to the acrylic tubing though..

So, from that picture linked, I will be using the 2 outer slots and the slot 2nd from the right to give the most even spacing. The crystal link stuff may be an option as the packs sold at overclockers, come in sets of different sizes

The smallest being 14mm:

Actually, plus the fitting profile length, I still think I'm screwed. Bugger

This is trickier than I thought

If I bought those tubes, I could cut them to size I suppose, but which fittings would I need for the inlets/outlets? Are the EK tube fittings compatible with the crystal link tubes. I'm assuming they are litterally just tubes so they should be

Thanks

Thanks for the help

My head is with it now. At least I'm pretty sure it is...

There are two types of the bridge right? The one you linked to does not require blanking links.

The older csq one does.

To sum it up, I just need to buy the one you linked to, and that is all I need. Nothing else. No blanking links. Nadda

Ta

Yeah, for your blocks you just need that FC terminal and that's it.

If you had these blocks, you'd need a csq bridge and the appropriate fc links.

the original bridge that you linked would be used with the appropriate fc links for older style fc blocks like this

Cheers petey

That's a big help. I'll have a look around for one and get the card rigged in. Isn't watercooling fun ; )

Thanks again
